Information We Collect

Calculator Input Data

Standard calculator inputs are processed locally in your browser. Where an optional AI explanation is available, requesting it may send the calculator name, result, interpretation and any additional clinical context supplied by that calculator to our AI explanation service, unless the explanation is already cached. This context may include input values.

Local Storage Data

Browser storage saves favourite calculators and unit conversions, recent tool identifiers, unit preferences, theme and preferred specialties. These preferences remain local unless you sign in and choose Upload this device. Browser storage also records your analytics consent choice and authentication session. Older visits may have stored a contact-form cooldown timestamp; the current contact page does not use it.

Contact Messages

The Contact page provides a direct email address after you choose to reveal it. Revealing or copying the address does not submit a message. If you send an email, your email provider and our Hostinger mailbox process the sender address, subject, message and any attachments for correspondence. The website does not send these messages through Supabase or Resend. Do not include patient information. Opening an email link does not confirm that a message was sent, delivered or read.

Newsletter Subscriptions

Newsletter signup sends your email address and signup source to Supabase. The subscriber record includes confirmation status, a confirmation token and subscription or unsubscribe timestamps. Resend processes email delivery. The signup process requests email confirmation before newsletter delivery.

Optional Account

Creating an account sends your email address, password and any name you provide to Supabase Authentication. Your name is included in account metadata. Signing in does not by itself upload your device preferences.

How We Use Information

Calculator Functionality

Standard calculations use your inputs in the browser to display results. Optional online features have separate data flows described in this policy.

AI-Powered Explanations

Where available, AI explanations are optional. When you request an explanation that is not already cached in browser memory, a Supabase function sends the calculator name, result, interpretation and optional context to OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to. The service may try more than one model if a request fails. Do not include patient identifiers.

Communications and Preferences

Emails to the team are used for correspondence. Newsletter records are used to confirm subscriptions, send updates and record opt-outs. Account data supports sign-in, and uploaded preferences let you apply those settings on another device.

Service Improvement

With analytics consent, usage data helps us understand which canonical tools are selected and whether a workflow succeeds. Product events exclude raw search text, calculator inputs, calculated values, interpretations and patient identifiers.

Third-Party Services

Service Providers

Supabase supports account authentication, stored preferences, newsletter records and server functions. Hostinger hosts our contact mailbox. Resend supports the separate newsletter email service, not the current Contact page. OpenRouter and its model providers process requested AI explanations. These services have their own privacy policies; local calculator processing does not mean optional online features stay on your device.

Google Analytics

The Google tag loads when you open the site, with analytics storage denied by default unless you previously accepted it. With storage denied, Consent Mode may still send cookieless measurement requests to Google, including page URLs and technical request information. Accepting analytics enables analytics cookies and our product events. Cookie preferences controls analytics cookies and product events; rejecting them does not block the Google tag or all measurement requests. It does not enable advertising or grant advertising consent.

Advertising Is Disabled

Advertising is not currently enabled. Ad serving remains disabled pending verification of account approval and the site-specific configuration of a suitable Google-certified consent management platform. An authorised ads.txt record or account-level consent messages alone do not establish those checks. The site's analytics banner is not a certified advertising consent platform.

If Advertising Is Enabled

Third-party vendors, including Google, may then use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to personalise ads using those visits. Advertising technologies may also support frequency limits, reporting and fraud prevention. You can opt out of personalised advertising at https://adssettings.google.com/. These disclosures describe possible future advertising, not active ad serving.

Data Storage & Security

Optional Preference Sync

Choosing Upload this device stores favourite and recent calculator and conversion identifiers, preferred specialties, units and theme in Supabase, linked to your account ID and an update timestamp. Apply cloud preferences downloads that record to your device. Calculator inputs, results and patient identifiers are excluded from the preference-sync payload. The database policy restricts signed-in users to their own preference record.

AI Cache and Server Processing

Requested explanations are cached in browser memory with a key containing the calculator name, result and interpretation. The AI server function forwards requests to providers rather than saving them to a calculator-results table. This is not a promise that providers or operational logs retain no data.

Stored Records

Account and synced preference records are stored separately from local settings. Newsletter unsubscribe updates the subscriber record rather than deleting it. Contact information is processed through email systems when delivery is configured. Historical contact logs may still contain email addresses, subjects or delivery responses. Status-only logging does not delete those records or establish that service providers retain no data. Newsletter functions also log email addresses and delivery responses; AI functions log model identifiers and provider error responses. This policy does not specify a fixed retention period for these records or for service-provider processing.

Your Rights & Choices

Clear Local Data

You can clear site data through your browser settings to reset locally saved preferences, favourites, recent tool history, consent choices and sign-in storage. Clearing browser storage does not delete account, synced preference, newsletter or email records held by service providers.

Account Data Choices

Preference sync is optional. You can use calculators without an account and export, import or overwrite preferences from the Preferences page. Privacy or account-data deletion requests can be submitted through the Contact page; signing out is not account deletion.

Newsletter Choices

Use the unsubscribe link in newsletter emails to stop newsletter delivery. Unsubscribing records your opt-out but does not delete the subscriber record.

AI Feature Control

AI explanations are optional where available; they are not enabled on every calculator. Not requesting an explanation avoids that feature's transmission to AI providers. Closing an explanation does not retract a request already sent.

Analytics Consent

You can accept or reject analytics cookies and product events using the cookie banner and withdraw consent using Cookie preferences in the site footer. Cookieless measurement requests may still occur as described above. This choice does not grant consent for advertising storage, advertising user data or ad personalisation. Advertising remains disabled.

HIPAA & PHI Disclaimer

Not for Patient Records

Quick Medical Calculator is an educational reference tool, not a patient-record system. Do not use it to store or transmit Protected Health Information (PHI). Local calculation alone is not a guarantee of HIPAA compliance.

User Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulations. Do not enter patient names, medical record numbers, or other identifying information.

Educational Purpose

This tool is intended for educational and reference purposes. Clinical calculations should be verified independently before patient care decisions.

International Users

Privacy Requests

Optional accounts, contact messages and newsletter subscriptions involve personal information. You can submit questions or requests about that information through the Contact page. We do not claim that privacy laws are inapplicable because standard calculations run locally.

Data Location

Local preferences remain on your device unless uploaded. Account, contact, newsletter and AI services may process information outside your country. This policy does not specify a hosting region for those providers.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
