How this calculator works

This is a category lookup for a finalized ACR TI-RADS point total: 0 maps to TR1, 2 to TR2, 3 to TR3, 4-6 to TR4 and 7-17 to TR5. A total of 1 and fractional totals are rejected. The tool does not reproduce the ultrasound feature worksheet or interpret images.

When to use this calculator

Use after an appropriately trained reader has assessed the nodule with authorized ACR material and obtained the correct total. Check that the input is the point total, not the numeric part of a TR category. Clinical management requires information beyond this lookup.

Worked example

A total of 6 maps to TR4, while 7 maps to TR5. Zero maps to TR1. Entering 1 produces no valid result rather than silently assigning TR1. The value 5 as a point total maps to TR4; it is not the same as entering a pre-existing category TR5.

Limitations and safety notes

The calculator cannot confirm the external feature scoring, image quality or applicability of the source system. The source material is linked rather than reproduced, and no ACR endorsement is claimed. Do not substitute category arithmetic for radiological assessment or apply it to unrelated TI-RADS systems.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter TR4 as the number 4?

Only enter the finalized point total. TR4 covers several totals; a category label and its underlying point sum are different inputs.

Does TR5 automatically require biopsy?

Not from this lookup alone. Size and clinical context must be considered using appropriate source guidance.
