Worked example

A report says ORT 2. It is retained as an original-score observation, not converted into “opioids are safe”. A report of 29 is outside the source maximum and is rejected; do not clamp it to 26 to make it fit.

Frequently asked questions

Does ORT measure withdrawal?

No. COWS addresses current opioid withdrawal features. ORT was designed for a different question in prescribed-opioid pain care; the scores cannot be substituted.
