Worked example

Two patients can each have a total of 8 while having different manifestations. A later score of 4 is four points lower, but the aggregate difference cannot identify which organ improved or rule out a new concern elsewhere.

The complete assessment and organ-specific findings matter. No universal mild/severe classification, steroid dose or treatment-response claim is generated. The 0-105 range is corroborated in a registered clinical-trial protocol.

Frequently asked questions

Does zero mean the person does not have lupus?

No. It means no activity was scored in that assessment, not absence of the underlying diagnosis or accumulated damage.
