The main result uses the conventional mixed-unit index: testosterone in ng/dL divided by estradiol in pg/mL. SI testosterone is divided by 0.0347 and SI estradiol by 3.671 first. The tool also displays the equal-mass ratio, ten times this index, and the molar ratio, 1000 x testosterone(nmol/L)/estradiol(pmol/L).

Worked example
Testosterone 350 ng/dL and estradiol 45 pg/mL give a mixed-unit index of 7.778. The equal-mass ratio is 77.778, because 350 ng/dL equals 3500 pg/mL. SI entries 12.145 nmol/L and 165.195 pmol/L produce the same outputs.
Limitations and safety notes
Assay accuracy, sampling context and the denominator strongly affect the ratio. Estradiol must be positive. Evidence from a specific fertility cohort cannot establish general clinical thresholds across sexes, ages and conditions. Treatment decisions require assessment of the individual hormone results and clinical picture.

Why is the equal-mass ratio ten times larger?
A ng/dL testosterone value becomes ten times as large when expressed in pg/mL. Equal units are required for an equal-mass ratio.
