How this calculator works

This is an external-total entry workflow. It records the completed BASDAI without displaying, paraphrasing or administering the symptom questionnaire. The former item-level interface is removed, and no missing-item method or alternative instrument is silently substituted.

When to use this calculator

Record an existing BASDAI result during follow-up of ankylosing spondylitis or an applicable axial spondyloarthritis assessment. Use the original assessment period and the same questionnaire version when comparing visits.

Worked example

A finalized total of 4.2 is recorded as 4.2 out of ten. A subsequent total of 3.7 is 0.5 lower. This descriptive difference does not itself establish treatment response, inflammatory remission or eligibility for a medicine.
