Worked example

A change from 70 to 80 is ten scale points. It is not automatically a 14.3% gain in physical capacity or a ten-percent improvement in survival. A total of 75 is rejected rather than interpreted as an intermediate official category.

Limitations and safety notes

Zero records death, not simply high support needs. The score cannot describe every functional limitation or determine treatment alone. No descriptor table or automatic ECOG crosswalk is reproduced.

Frequently asked questions

Why label the result points instead of percent survival?

The notation is a scale value. It is not an estimated probability or an interval-scale measurement.
